Chimney Masters offers a variety of chimney repairs to keep your fireplace and chimney operating at its best.

Some of the repairs we perform are:

  • Firebox repointing and rebuilding - The firebox of your fireplace takes a lot of heat and abuse. If any of the bricks are loose or if any of the mortar joints are eroded back more than 1/2 inch it may be time for a repair.
  • Mortar crown repair - The mortar crown is the concrete like surface at the top of your chimney. Its job is to shed water away from the flue and also keep water from entering the chimney chase. Cracks or missing pieces in the mortar crown can lead to extensive water damage in your chimney.
  • Damper repair - A damper stops heat from escaping up your chimney when the fireplace is not in use. If your fireplace does not have a damper or a tight fitting set of glass doors you are pumping money up your chimney. Give us a call!
  • Factory-built fireplaces - We offer repairs for factory-built fireplaces including new chase covers, firebox walls, chimney caps, screens and glass doors.

10 Signs Your Chimney May Be Leaking:

A leaking chimney isn’t always obvious. Chimney Masters will inspect your chimney to determine whether or not your chimney is leaking, but you can be pretty sure you have a leak if you’ve noticed any of the following:

  1. Water dripping into your fireplace
  2. Water staining on the walls or ceiling near your chimney
  3. Rainwater in your furnace thimble
  4. Deteriorated metal or masonry firebox assemblies or rusted fireplace accessories
  5. A dripping noise
  6. A musty smell
  7. Rotting adjacent wood and ruined wall coverings
  8. Stained chimney exterior or decaying exterior mortar
  9. A cracked or deteriorated flue lining
  10. A leaning, collapsed, or settled-looking chimney

If you’ve noticed one or more of these things, schedule a chimney inspection right away to get a professional opinion
